The methodical and meticulous Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) provides a structure to efficiently address client issues. An outline of the phases within this procedure illustrates the value of the SDLC approach:
What is the problem?
Determine the expectations of the new system and how it will operate with the existing infrastructure.
The “blueprint” for the desired solution is created based on the requirements obtained during the Analysis phase.
Specific solutions are selected to fulfill the requirements of the Logical design.
Components are deployed, tested and documented. This includes lab testing, pilot group implementation when possible and then production deployment. The designated personnel are trained in the new system’s usage.
Support and modify the system for the remainder of its life cycle.
